When I started lifting weights and training to gain muscle, I have not been properly activating my muscles in the way I do today.
As a beginner, I was just interested in trying to lift heavier than the weight as I could and I did not take into consideration things like proper, the mind-muscle connections and focusing on muscles a good time to do the exercises.
No, I only see myself in the mirror I try dumbbell curl 50 pounds when I should really be used more like 15 pounds dumbbells.
Now do not get me wrong, you do not want to lift weights heavier over time. After all, our muscles will adapt if we give him a reason to adapt. But I was impatient, young and had something to prove. I do not care to make good progress in my lifts. All I wanted to do was boost my ego by heavy lifting in front of my friends.
I do not gain weight and make some progress, but then all the way, my progress came to a halt.
What happened? Ill tell you what happened ... "Training for beginners gains" the wearing off!
The only real reason is because I progressed I was a beginner, and even though my form, concentration and technique were slightly incorrect, my body was still adapting.
This is great when you're a beginner and you raise the weight is only moderate, but as you progress through your training and you get stronger you can develop imbalances and / or injury.
So today, I always recommend my clients to focus on technique and form before you even consider lifting heavier weights. It will pay off big time to the end.
