Katy Perry is not ready to let go era Teenage Dream. She prepares her sixth single from the album, Sentimental midtempo track "The One That Got Away".
Billboard reports that the singer's label has confirmed the release of the track. The decision to release another song from the album, Greg Thompson, an EMI Music / Capitol Records EVP / marketing and promotional rep, says the mag, "nothing ventured, nothing gained."
Boasting production and writing credits Dr. Luke and Max Martin (with a co-written by Perry to help itself), the track is all about his first love. The chorus of the track, she pines, "In another life, I want to be your daughter / We keep all our promises, we either against the / world, and in another life, I'd stay / So I do not to say you were the one that got away. "
While she is a princess of pop, Perry also called his love for artists like Radiohead and Johnny Cash on the song, which appears to be about another musician. "Someone said that you had your tattoo removed," she sings. "Saw you in the center sings the blues / It's time to face the music / I'm not your muse."
The track will hit radio next month. So far, Perry has already found great success with his previous five singles Teenage Dream, with each in the lead. California Gurl adapted from Michael Jackson to record the feat, and if this track is also expected to go No. 1, it would be the best King of Pop.
